Members of congress who have been in power for a certain amount of time lose their values. They become career politicians who do not expect to ever be required to follow the laws they create, nor do they plan on entering the private sector ever again. Retiring from congress means a hefty retirement paycheck with the added bonus of never feeling the effects of the policies they made, good or bad.
Career politicians are much more likely to fall victim to political corruption. Major companies with a lot of money are able to easily buy votes from congress, with no regard to the people that have to live with their decision.
Therefore, we the people hereby petition the Obama Administration to push congress to impose the following term limits upon themselves: Senate: 2 terms, House: 6 terms.
