Impose term limits for all members of congress: both representatives and senators.

Created by S.P. on March 05, 2013

We the people request that all members of the House and Senate be restricted to a cap of 2-4 terms in office.

For Representatives, terms are 2 years in duration. Representatives would remain eligible be elected for up to four terms, not to exceed 8 years in office (served consecutively or non-consecutively).

For Senators, terms are 6 years in duration. Senators would remain eligible be elected for up to two terms, not to exceed 12 years in office (served consecutively or non-consecutively).

This will also require an overhaul in the current pension system available to our congressional members. While future pensions should still have perks, they should not take affect until the congressional member reaches the age of Social Security (whatever the age may be at that point in time).
