It's no secret that congress can't agree on much these days. Every 2 and 6 years, representatives and senators spend a great deal of time ensuring that they get reelected for the upcoming term. More likely than not, they are also making decisions that will appeal to their voters, whether it is actually best for the country as a whole or not. To them, it is more important that they keep their job, because like everyone else, no one wants to be unemployed. However, if term limits were imposed, those folks could arrange employment for after their term and make better decisions knowing it will not have an effect on their employment situation in the future.
The biggest flaw of all..how do we get congress to propose and adopt an amendment that limits its own power?
