Elected Federal Offices were never intended to be career options. Current elected officials have become too comfortable in their positions, being backed by large corporations who will fund their re-election campaigns in order to ensure the status quo remains. Imposing term limits on federally elected positions will hold elected officials accountable for their campaign promises and will ensure a high enough turn over rate to prevent stagnation of Congress. Old grudges stall progress, allowing fresh ideas and opinions into government will maintain progress and keep the government current. This will also help ensure job creation as politicians will have to have jobs separate from elected offices.
