Imposing term limits for Congressional Incumbents is paramount if we are to maintain the integrity of citizen legislation our founding fathers envisioned. According to analysis conducted by Gallup, Inc., current Congressional approval among the US population is just 14%. Due to inequitable campaigning and lobbying, the Congressional reelection rate is 90% as of 2012. This clearly does not represent the will of the American people, but rather the will of wealthy lobbyists trying to maintain a profitable connection to a government authority. The incumbent stagnation this process has created has stifled innovation and effectiveness in our legislative branch and should be updated with term limits to accurately represent the people of the United States of America.
