DC is the Capitol of the United States. We deserve to have better air. Dr. Jonathan Levy, describes results of a study undertaken by a team of researchers from Harvard School of Public Health to, in part, estimate the health risks of five power plants in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area.
In the study researchers estimate that over 250 premature deaths per year are associated with fine particulate matter air pollution from five power plants in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
We as a people also believe that more care should be taken beyond just regulating emissions. There needs to be more critical thought to how we improve our air quality. We don't have time to waste.
