Improve pool safety standards all over the U.S to decrease the amount of drownings that occur every year.

From 2005-2009, there were an average of 3,533 fatal unintentional drownings (non-boating related) annually in the United States — about ten deaths per day. About one in five people who die from drowning are children 14 and younger. One of these victims is Malvrick Donkor, a 14 year old from Manchester, CT that drowned in Manchester High School's swimming pool during a required swimming course on November 21, 2012. There needs to be a change in the pool safety standards across the United States, to decrease the amount of children that drown each year. Nobody else should have to go through the pain that so many people have felt due to Malvrick's death.
