Improve representative democracy by mandating more political choices at the ballot box.

Created by B.K. on October 17, 2013

Mandate automatic ballot access for federal candidates of all political parties with FEC national committee status. This is costly and difficult to attain: minor parties must petition multiple candidates onto ballots in numerous states, in the same election, a high bar to prevent excessive candidates
True representative democracy dictates multiple candidates for election to accurately reflect the political positions of the population. We promote multi-party democracy world-wide, but limit the choices at home to 2. More choice will increase electoral participation and could end polarization and gridlock in DC
A law adding a handful of minor party candidates to election ballots will show the world America walks the talk of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people
