Until electric vehicle technology is viable on a large scale, biodiesel is an important factor in reducing our dependence on oil. It is better than ethanol, which takes more energy to produce, yet generates less usable energy than even gasoline. Diesel cars are popular in Europe, partly because they are not hampered by unbalanced tax rates. Recent advances in clean diesel engines makes them better for the environment as well.
We petition the government to reduce the tax rate on diesel fuel to make it more feasible for Americans to buy diesel vehicles, and use biodiesel.
