Improve trade relations with Cuba by expanding the Trade Sanctions and Reform Act

The improvement of economic trade relations between the U.S. and Cuba is the foundation for the future alliance between our countries. The development of the Cuban economy along with a sustainable agricultural industry is as beneficial to Cuba as it is the U.S. As Cuba’s economy grows so do the trade opportunities for U.S. industries and small business enterprises. Both countries economies will benefit with an increased exchange of ideas, knowledge, capital and credit. Therefore, we advocate widening the existing law that permits the sale of agricultural products to Cuba by amending the Trade Sanction and Reform Act to allow U.S. products to be purchased by Cuba on credit. The "Illinois Cuba Working Group" was formed by the Illinois General Assembly to advocate the approval of this measure
