There are about 27 million people in the world who are currently enslaved. Slavery in all forms is a horrible condition that should not happen in the world today. Not only does it destroy individuals and families, slaves also are forced to destroy the environment for profit. Slavery exists where there are vulnerable people looking for a way to provide for their family. They are trafficked and forced to work in terrible conditions as prostitutes, miners or other demeaning tasks. Slavery exists where there is corruption in governments & the rule of law doesn't protect people.
The US can solve this problem is we focus on it! All slaves can permanently be freed for about $10B. Freed people will then be able to improve their communities, bring their nations out of poverty and stop the cycle.
