I was devastated to discover that the only treatment available to alcoholic or addicted medicare recipients is 4 counseling sessions. This is not even a bandaid for a deadly and disabling disease afflicting millions of senior citizens with an estimated cost of billions of dollars to medical facilities and passed down to taxpayers. It may appear to some to save money, but is the cost of treatment for cirrhosis of the liver, brain/neurological damage, injuries due to falls, car accidents, including injuries & death of others really less that the cost of professional treatment?
I pray that this serious health issue will be reexamined.
Respectfully and with hope, Liz Baca
