include Bed and Breakfasts willing to take government per diem rates in allowable places to stay for official travel.

Created by J.K. on August 22, 2013

When civil servants and contractors travel on official business for the US Government, they are required to stay in lodging establishments which have agreed to the pre-negotiated per diem lodging rate applicable for their area. Unfortunately, this often excludes small bed and breakfast enterprises, pushing business toward large chains which have been able to more easily participate in the negotiation process. This petition asks the Office of Management and Budget to work with the Small Business Administration to find a way to include more owner-operated lodging establishments in the list of permissible travel options for official business use.
