On June 6th, 1939, the US government refused to permit European Jewish refugees on the passenger ship the St. Louis, asylum and sent them back to the horrors of Europe.
The previous March, Congressional leaders in both US houses allowed to die in committee a bill sponsored by Senator Robert Wagner (D-N.Y.) and Representative Edith Rogers (R-Mass.) to admit 20,000 Jewish children from Germany above the existing quota to help save the Jews of Europe.
Today in France, Hungry, Greece and the Ukraine the Jewish community is under very real threat again from radical ideologies that are looking to marginalize and attack Jews just for being Jewish.
We call on the Government to grant visa's to European Jews who are again facing anti-Sematism and are in fear for their lives and their future.
