TSP (Thrift Savings Plan) is the government equivalent of a 401K. Currently all government employed civilians may contribute to this retirement fund and enjoy matching contributions up to 5% of their pay under title 5, US code chapter 84.
In the same document the patriots serving in the US military are excluded from any matching to their contributions, elimanating a major incentive to save for retirement.
According to PSCA's 55th annual survey companies contributed an average of 4.1% of employee pay in 2011.
Please help to rectify this unfortunate and unfair oversight in supporting those that risk their lives to provide for our Country's security.
