As an active Partner for a Healthier America, the University of North Florida and the Ogier Gardens ask the first lady, Michelle Obama, to consider paying a visit to our campus garden as she embarks on her Let's Move Garden Tour. Our nearly one-acre, on-campus organic garden has a variety of over 20 fruit trees, raised vegetable beds for student adoption, edible mushroom cultivation and row crops for sale to our campus food provider. In addition to increasing students' access to fresh fruits and vegetables, we provide educational workshops which focus on organic agriculture, teach self-sufficiency, and discuss concerns of environmental health. It is our mission to inspire authentic community engagement at the University and throughout our region!
