include same-sex unions (foreign and domestic) as valid ground for citizenship, residency and visa applications.

Created by D.A. on June 20, 2013

With the upcoming reform of immigration legislation, it is time for the United States to finally recognize same-sex unions and marriages as valid grounds for immigration petitions.

Same-sex unions and marriages are becoming a reality in the western world, with countries in Europe and the Americas recognizing the legal validity of a committed relationship. It is simply horrifying that a couple that is legally married in Belgium for example, will instantly, upon entering U.S. soil, loose all benefits associated with their legal union.

This is even more important for cases related to immigration petitions, as committed couples are forced apart by current discriminatory policies.

It is time to change this! Please recognize ALL same-sex unions and marriages in immigration matters.
