include sexual orientation and gender identity education in the high school health standards of the united states.

As a high school student in York, Maine there is absolutely little to no information about sexual orientation and gender identity. The information that was there was very bias towards the topic. I believe that including this sensitive topic in health classes will reduce the amount of LGBTQ suicides. I also believe that this will make schools across the country a more safe environment for LGBTQ students, staff and faculty.
