This petition is to add sexual orientation to an already existing program called MEO or the Military Equal Opportunity program. Already included in this is race, sex, creed, age, religion, etc.. but sexual orientation has yet to be added.
All Soldiers regardless of sexual orientation, are entitled to an environment free from personal,
social, or institutional barriers that prevent Soldiers from rising to the highest level of
responsibility possible.
At the moment the only steps that a military service member may take is to go through the IG or Inspector General.
Military service members SERVE and PROTECT. If you can serve your country, if you can die for your country, then the least your country can do is serve you, and protect your rights for equality.
