In response to President Obama’s recent announcement of a White House sponsored task force to protect students from sexual assault, this petition proposes one primary amendment to the task force memorandum.
The amendment would be the addition of one or two student sexual assault survivor(s) or activist(s) to the task force. Students who have experienced the failings of reporting procedures on college campuses are better equipped to understand the necessary improvements to policies and procedures, as they are closer to the process than federal officials.
