Include US Coast Guard Auxiliary and Civil Air Patrol in the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act

Created by P.L. on February 08, 2014

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary and Civil Air Patrol are the civilian, uniformed volunteer branches of our Coast Guard and Air Force respectively.

We are uniformed, trained and ready to serve. However, our national service is not protected under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). Others serving in active or reserve forces, including Coast Guard and Public Health Service members are protected. We, unfortunately, are not.

That means no protection from losing our day jobs, workplace discrimination, or having our service-related disabilities ignored by our jobs. We are experts who provide disaster relief. We conduct search and rescue missions. We protect the Homeland.

Please sign this petition to protect our right to serve and safely return to work.
