incorporate an in-depth Geography course in the nationwide Common Core.

Created by S.C. on May 29, 2014

Social Studies classes incorporate both History and Geography. The Common Core in most states are not focusing specifically on Global Geography as much as Global History. It is mostly South America, Great Britain, and China on which Geography is concentrated. There needs to be a change where Social Studies courses concentrate more on the geography of the rest of the world.
Ask anyone in America which countries border Kazakhstan; not many can answer. In fact, very few know that it is a country bordering Uzbekistan and Russia.
America needs to deeply educate Geography to Americans for them to understand geography better, which in turn will lead American citizens to further understanding of the global community, and to work to improve the world.
