Water privatization is a growing issue in our nation. Private water companies from non-domestic territories such as the Suez Environment French-owned water company enter into contracts with municipalities in the United States and abuse contract agreements by failing to provide efficient water systems. Increasing rates are also leading to decreased accessibility of safe water to homes. It is imperative that private companies are held accountable for the negative impact they are creating in our nation by violating water rights.
