Right now, it is legal for 18 yr old kids to purchase Assault rifles and shotguns. However, you have to be 21 to purchase a pistol. You can accomplish way more damage with an assault rifle that holds 30 round magazines up to 100 round drums, than you can a pistol. This current age law makes no sense. Most of these school shootings have been done with rifles by kids under the age of 21. You are a senior in highschool at the age of 18. You should not be able to purchase an assault rifle when you are still in highschool. At 18, you are still susceptible to bullying, peer pressure, etc,, and 18 yr olds are friends with 16 and 17 yr olds that they could purchase guns for, This also all applies to college kids (age 19 & 20) as well. This age must be raised to 21.
