increase aggregate loan limits for federal student loans.

Created by C.S. on August 25, 2014

Currently the aggregate loan limit, or the total amount of loans an independent student may take out is $57,500. This petition is to get the administration to increase that amount to $70,000 or higher. Higher education is important but it's becoming much too difficult to attend with rising tuition costs. Many more students are returning to school, looking for new career fields because their previous field did not work out for them. By increasing this amount, it allows returning students to finish their degree without having to drop out and pay back a $57,500 debt with a minimum wage or low paying job. We should be investing our federal money in the education of future generations, or we all may live in poverty and ignorance.
