Petition's purpose is to have the FAA set a mandatory minimum for airline legroom for all passenger flights.
Airlines have reduced coach passenger legroom over the last two decades in order to add more passengers and provide larger legroom to premium seating. Over the last few weeks, several cases of flight diversions due to inflight fights between passengers over reclined seating further reducing their legroom.
This petition would require domestic airline flights to provide a certain minimal legroom by a certain date if enacted.
Similar to the DO NOT CALL registry - this action would find bipartisan support and would prove extremely popular as well as topical to issues going on today.
