increase the annual budget of NASA to 1% of the Federal Budget

Created by R.C. on March 21, 2015

NASA has, since its founding in 1958, been a leading source of technological innovation for this nation. Much of what we take for granted today, from CAT scans to water filtration systems owe their origin to the individual who have worked for NASA. Furthermore, the agency has also inspired patriotism in the hearts of millions of Americans, from winning the space race on July 20, 1969 with Apollo 11, to launching Voyager 2 into interstellar space. Now NASA languishes under budget cuts that see it operating on $18 billion, >0.5% of the federal budget, a far cry from 1966 when 4.41% of the Federal Budget was allocated to NASA, equivalent to $43 billion today. We petition this administration to increase NASA's operating budget to 1% of the Federal Budget, For the Benefit of All.
