The Federal Pell Grant has been greatly affected this past few years. Less people are eligible for it and that affects us since most students need some financial aid including me. The economy is not in the best shape ever and most people can't pay for college without using student loans and paying extra money. I myself cannot study civil engineering without the Pell Grant plus student loans. We need more people to study and get a good education so we can improve our world and nation but without any financial aid we cannot expect to have thousands of well prepared professionals. The grant was available till you finished a bachelor's degree but then it was lowered to 18 full time semesters and now to 12. We need more and not less, we have to think about the future and not only the present.
