yesterday earth got closer to massive death and destruction then we have seen since the Cuban missile crisis. we need to look at increasing the meager funding to NASA. we have no defense against such strikes as we stand now, and needs remedied. i propose we increase the budget with the mandate that NASA researches and implements ways to defend against future events.
not only that but to pave the way for commercial exploration and mining, tourist, or scientific research.
Only NASA has the abilities to accomplish that, and i view this as a national and international defense issue. it would require collaboration of all of the Federal agencies that operate today, and of private industry.
i view this as a corner stone of out future economy and one that will secure us for centuries to come
