Increase the budget for the Peace Corps

Created by K.M. on January 18, 2013

Accord. to Wikipedia: Spending on "Defense Related Expenditures" for 2012 totaled: $1.030 - $1.415 trillion.

Accord. to the Nat Peace Corps Assoc. website: The 2012 funding package for the Peace Corps was $375 million.

As a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, I believe more money should be spent on "promoting peace," rather than on "defense."

Peace Corps Volunteers, at the least, act as "goodwill ambassadors" for our country. We show a more human-side of Americans to other nations. We learn about other countries, and then bring that knowledge home with us.

Drop one less bomb, and spend that money on laptops for all PC Volunteers.
