Increase the budget for the space administration, start a program to develop society to at least a Class I civilization.

Created by E.B. on December 13, 2012

Space is the future of the human race, and the first country to achieve human interplanetary travel will have a significant advantage over other countries. On the Kardashev scale, we are still a Class 0 civilization. Given the advancements in technology over the past century, with government cooperation we could significantly advance American society and human civilization as a whole by increasing funding for research on more efficient space travel, energy efficiency, space programs, computer technology/security, and advanced engineering such as astroengineering. A goal should be to achieve the Class I status by the turn of the century; humans could fully use and control all the resources of our planet. If we could achieve this goal, we would take humanity farther than ever before.
