The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives's ability to enforce gun laws have been severely limited by previous legislation, influenced by lobbyists from the American Rifle Association. If we are to create gun laws and regulations to protect the American people, then we need to have an enforcement body with the strength and jurisdiction to do so.
