We call upon the President and congress to implement a taxation policy to recover revenue from corporations which implement automation solutions that displace the existing human workforce.
The intent of this petition is not to discourage automation. On the contrary, automation, combined with emerging, machine learning (artificial intelligence) technologies, has the potential to liberate the human race from many of the menial tasks of our forefathers.
As machine learning gets closer to approximating human intelligence, then matches it, a fully automated workforce is within sight. We must take steps now to seize our legacy and birthright as a tool making species. We call on you to take the lead in the final leg of this human technological endeavor.
