Increase the duration of time for receiving survivor's benefits for full time students

Created by D.W. on August 26, 2013

A death of a parent, especially the only parent a child can have, is a very heartbreaking situation. It burdens not only the child but the surviving family, if there is anyone to help care for the child. As the child gets older, college comes into play. That child more than likely is no longer under the care of their guardian, and even more unlikely able to pay for college alone. Should that child have to go into debt for student loans? Should that child have to struggle even more? This petition is for those of us who believe that survivor's benefits should be extended to the age of 22 for full time students who meet their school's satisfactory academic progress.
