Increase the "earned income limit" for working seniors and survivors who are receiving social security benefits.

Created by B.G. on March 24, 2013

Persons receiving survivors' benefits from a deceased person's SSA account, and persons who have retired early, are too limited on how much they can earn. Currently, the "earned income" limit does not allow anyone receiving any SSA benefit from earning even MINIMUM wage if they are working fulltime. If a working senior was allowed to work fulltime without such a low limit, he or she would be (1) paying more back into SSA and other taxes; (2) be able to qualify for jobs that offer medical benefits (which is beneficial for those who are under the age of 65), and (3) be able to contribute a higher percentage of income to the purchase of consumer goods, thereby increasing the demand for consumer goods and increasing the overall GNP. Being limited to less than $15,000 gross income is WRONG.
