Increase education funding at all levels.

Education is the future of our economy. A dollar spent on education has the largest "multiplier effect" of any public expenditure. It "levels the playing field" between rich and poor, offers a permanent path out of poverty, attracts jobs, creates engaged and knowledgeable citizens. Teachers are heroes, not scapegoats, and their salaries need to be on the level with other professionals. Books, tech resources, school buildings on all levels from pre-school to grad school are deteriorating. States and municipalities cannot access enough money or are unwilling to revitalize education resources. Initiatives on the federal level can win the day!
