increase efforts to end the genocide in Darfur.

Created by C.T. on October 26, 2011

Since 2003, the Darfur Genocide in the western part of Sudan has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, forced millions to leave their homes, caused the entire population to live in a perpetual state of fear, and resulted in the rape of women and girls. According to the Save Darfur Coalition, the government of Sudan continues to support ethnic cleansing, utilizing the Sudanese Military and gangs called the Janjaweed. Nations like China still buy oil from Sudan, thereby funding the genocide. Some actions have been taken by the Bush and Obama administrations, such as sanctions and appointment of envoys. But the Sudanese government continues killing innocent people. We ask that more severe economic and possibly military actions be taken to save Darfur and hold perpetrators accountable.
