The railroad industry was once one of the prime reasons why our country has developed into what it is today. Now I believe it is time to let them help us again. With the proper funding for research and development, the railroad industry could become a main staple in mass transportation and major shipping method for our country. I am not petitioning for a transcontinental, high speed train like some have wanted. I think it would be more beneficial if the industry were able to further develop and evolve current railroad technology to make trains more accessible to our fellow citizens. The more people riding trains, the less people driving cars, which means lower gas prices and helps our cause to better help the environment. I hope that you can stand by my side and support my ideas.
