increase the federal income tax standard deduction to $50,000.

Created by S.S. on March 12, 2013

President Obama stated that no one should pay federal income taxes until their income was high enough to at least be the equivalent of a living wage. He suggested that amount to be $50,000 for a single head of household, then further increase for married couples and families. It would apply to all wage earners rather than a narrow segment of the population as current tax deductions or tax expenditures now do.
