We believe that the punishment for animal abusers isn't strict enough at the moment. Currently in some states the maximum fine for animal abuse is $1000 and the maximum imprisonment punishment is 6 months. If the federal government sets increases the maximum fee and imprisonment punishment length then less people would abuse animals.
