Public school libraries have been defunded in recent years. Students need more funding for libraries to purchase new materials and computers, and to provide instruction for students to navigate the internet, and to help students decipher what is reliable and what is unreliable. Also, students need to know the importance of reading, as computer, Smartphones, and video games gradually replace reading for many students nationwide.
