Schizophrenia is a devastating disease, for many without any hope of control through drugs. The drugs we do have are inadequate. We are just beginning to understand the brain locus of the disease, but decades away from understanding it. Meanwhile, those afflicted live on the streets, homeless, or in jails, or locked up in some hospital. That is a national disgrace. Only a tiny number of schizophrenics are pathological killers, but those that are inflict terrible damage on society. We must find a cure.
