This petition proposes an increase in funding for fusion energy research to the extent that the US will build the first sustainable high gain reactor within two decades. The world needs this and we can do it. Humanity will benefit greatly not only from achieving this goal but also, as will all scientific and engineering efforts, from each step along the way.
