Increase funding for mental health services

Created by J.N. on February 07, 2013

Did you know that 1 out of every 17 Americans lives with a mental illness but fewer than a third receive professional treatment? Did you know that 1 out of every 10 children live with a serious mental illness? Individuals with mental illness deserve access to services and funding that is not there and continues to get cut.

President Obama has addressed the nation about gun control after the recent shootings. The issue in many of these shootings isn't gun control, it's lack of services for individuals with mental illnesses. We now would like President Obama and the Legislature to now concentrate and address the lack of funding for mental health services in the United States and make it easier for individuals with mental health disorders to receive the services they so desperately need.
