Currently, NASA only receives about 20 billion dollars a year, .5% of the United States' Federal Budget. To put that in perspective, the United States currently has a budget of 3.5 trillion dollars per year.
NASA has created many inventions with their research in the past, including artificial limbs, heart pumps, thermal blankets, scratch-resistant lenses, aircraft anti-icing systems, safety grooving, temper foam, enriched baby food, portable cordless vacuums, freeze drying, water purification, solar cells, and many other technologies. In addition to their contributions to society, NASA has made missions to outer space that may provide humans with new resources unavailable to us on Earth.
Increased funding for NASA would allow them to expand their research and further the human race.
