Early on the morning on Feb. 15th, a 50 foot wide meteor fell over the skies of Russia. This object exploded about 10 miles above the surface with the force equivalent to 300,000 tons of TNT (that's more than 15 times greater than the bomb dropped on Nagasaki during WWII). Only coincidentally, another object named asteroid 2012 DA14 passed within 17,200 miles of Earth hours later, an object 150 feet wide! Keep in mind, this object has absolutely nothing to do with the one that fell over Russia! If such events are so common that they can coincide with such timing, how long before another object of equivalent size and mass hits us on a deeper path, causing massive amounts of deaths, and billions, or even trillions of dollars in infrastructure damage? We need better detection!
