In 1969, we set foot on the Moon. Since then, we've only been back 5 times. It is now 47 years later. Why haven't we explored deeper into our planetary neighborhood?
The answer is funding. Currently, NASA's funding is under half a percent of our federal budget. We want to go places, but we can't until NASA is funded better. We have to keep pushing the boundaries of science and technology. Scientific progress has nearly stopped since the turn of the century. With these increased funds, we can support new missions and colonies on the Moon and Mars. We will unlock the vast amount of resources in the Asteroid Belt. It's time to jump start our research machine and keep advancing into the unknown.
