Increase the FY 2013 funding request for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (part of the Dept. of HHS) from $409 million to $450 million.
The extra funding is to be used to create a robust communications program to provide information to the medical community on evidenced-based research regarding the effectiveness of treatment options.
Currently, providers get too much of their medical information from non-impartial sources.
