Increase government funding for adult literacy programs

In the U.S. today, 36 million adults can't read better than the average 3rd grader,and only 3 million of these adults are able to receive the needed literacy education. The unlucky rest, who suffer from the lack of basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills, struggle to find jobs, stay healthy, and support their families. As the number of people seeking help increases, there is only a limited number of resources available to aid those 3 million adults. By increasing the funds, there are personal benefits as well as positive affects to economy; employment would increase as more people became skilled and financially literate. The detrimental effects of having American adults who lack even a primary education needs to be addressed through government funding.
