The need for increase funding into social services and education is clearly transparent in the wake of the recent shootings. Many agencies are operating without adequate staff, well trained staff, and the funding to provide needed services to their communities.
For many agencies it takes acts of self harm or harm to others before they can assist. It is time to recognize the seriousness of mental illness.
Make funding for social services, education, and training and recruitment of staff a priority in the upcoming fiscal budget.
